Take the Black Stairs to the top of my self
Invite all these new friends to play
Open the door, take my heart off the shelf
Sing out my stories and sway.
The spiral in the middle of the Guggenheim
Sonic Space and a pile of dough
Rhinoceros head and the bugs in a line
Imitate life as I go
There’s an evil to the left, and a sweet to the right
The middle-man is too good to know
A pickle in my hand and my tongue is on fire
Accordions are leading the show
Timpani, Glockenspiel, fancy cocktails
Making friends with a mime
Follow the trail of accordion tales
To the mystery play of this time
Singing in the park after midnight
A sculpture so big that it swallows me whole
Playing it cool till the passion ignites
A gift so grand it almost cancels the show
There’s an evil to the left, and a sweet to the right
The middle-man is too good to know
A pickle in my hand and my tongue is on fire
Accordions are leading the show
There’s no way out we’re trapped in hell
But the hell is just in our minds
The old cabaret seductresses lines keep
Playing…& re-playing…& re-playing…&re-playing
& re-playing…& re-playing…& re-playing…
& re-playing
There’s an evil to the left, and a sweet to the right
The middle-man is too good to know
A pickle in my hand and my tongue is on fire
Accordions are leading the show

The very first time we danced
I saw my future with you
It was all there in your glance
Somehow I already knew
I won’t be afraid
As our eyes start to fade
Our hair may turn white, but our song can still play all night
We’ll be getting around with our canes and our chairs
Looking like old-folks, but we won’t care
Though age may alter our dance
We’ll be waltzing by just holding hands
Waltzing by Just Holding Hands
Dancing with you today
Seeing our future in truth
Knowing that time has a way
Of stealing vitality and youth
We will remember
Our journey together
It was great to be young, but we’ll cherish what
We have become
Getting around with our canes and our chairs
Looking like old-folks, but we won’t care
Though age may alter our dance
We’ll be waltzing by just holding hands
Waltzing by Just Holding Hands
Getting around with our canes and our chairs
Looking like old-folks, but we won’t care
Though age may alter our dance
We’ll be waltzing by just holding hands
Waltzing by Just Holding Hands
Sitting and swinging our hands
Waltzing by Just Holding Hands

Alpha
03:22
|
|||
You spotted me from across the room
Just another pretty girl, you assume
You can keep grinning, boy, but you’ve been mislead
You’re about to get in over your head
Don’t you worry, There’s no hurry
Gonna find your new attitude.
I’m gonna Alpha you
I’ll have you down on the floor, begging for more
I’m gonna Al- pha you
We all play games and you’ve stepped into mine
Just follow my lead and you will be fine
Don’t second guess, before we begin
Play it my way and everyone wins.
Don’t you worry, there’s no hurry
Gonna love your new point of view.
I’m gonna Alpha you
Just relax and enjoy, while I make you my toy
I’m gonna Al- pha you
Romance is a series of chances
And every dog will have its day
In a room full of Omegas
I choose you to be my Beta…
Ahhhh Ohhhh
In a world full of Omegas
I choose you to be my Beta
I’m gonna Alpha you
I’ll have you down on your knees, eager to please
I’m gonna Al- pha you
I’m gonna Alpha you
As we’re messin’ around, might let you turn it around
I’m gonna Al- pha you

I Should Know Better
02:40
|
|||
Your tattoos are indelible ink on my mind
They make you look so tough but you’re so kind
We only had a week Then I had to leave
Will my memories fade? Dissolving with time?
I should know better than to believe in romance
I should know better than to
(1.) hold onto our missed chance
(2.) hold on to that instance
(3.) try to cross the distance
You make my heart go Pitter-Patter
And I want to believe I start to believe … But I should know better
You gave me the luxury of letting go
So opposite to the world I always know
You were my man in a strange land
Your love pierced my heart like an arrow
I’m still missing you your ink won’t wash away
It might have been something more than love.

Caught in Your Tune
03:56
|
|||
I met you on a night when self-respect, took over
I knew that you should never be my lover.
I saw the charm and glibness that you wear, like a costume
Reminding myself to beware.
Swaying to your song with a precaution
A person like you has many options…
You know a girl like me will not be caught in that fashion
I have too many things that hold my passion
And yet I’m beaming like the moon
And I can’t believe I’m swooning
Now that I’m caught in your tune
Now that I’m caught in your tune
Your magnetism flirts with my disaster, (you bastard)
Uncovering my soft spots and my fractures
The watcher in me figures out your method
You look for every kink and tender access.
You give me such a thrill with your glances
Wish that I could brush of your advances
The gigolo, the player and the saint – you crooner
Before I know it I will be a goner.
You undress me with your voice
As if I have no choice
I see you have a mission
I’m caught in this position
You grab me with your eyes
I want you between my thighs
The rhythm of your rhyme has galvanized
This overwhelming lust I cannot hide
I must admit you have me mesmerized
I couldn’t even stop you if I tried.
And so I’m beaming like the moon
I know that I am swooning
Now that I’m caught in your tune
Now that I’m caught in your tune
Now that I’m caught in your tune

Crocuses
04:19
|
|||
The crocuses bloomed that you planted November
They woke with the light of the spring
But your tired body did not live through winter
The planting did not give the hope it could bring
You told me that you had been sick for so long
And money had been tight
You struggled for years
and did not want to live
So I will forgive you.
Alone in your house that day of the week
Your client came to call.
The oldest profession, it should be antique
Seemed to be part of your down-fall.
Your sensitive nerves could not endure
the life of a “Soiled Dove.”
You struggled for years
and did not want to live
So we will forgive you.
I packed up the memories your daughter would want
After the Police were gone
You struggled for years
and did not want to live
So she will forgive you.
In your next journey beyond this great valley
Remember that you were loved
For exactly whomever you were meant to be
And by all the folks you took care of
Though your end was lonesome and cruel
Angels have carried you home
And the crocuses bloomed after you passed
But, you’re at peace
You’re at peace
You’re at peace at last.

You Smile and I Melt
03:16
|
|||
I sit in my control booth
In my cyber-virtual-world
Some may say that I’m aloof
But inside this oyster is a pearl
I can be a card carrying cynic
I’m hardened and playing my part
Scheduled to the max every minute
But your laughter has warmed my heart
My modern day frown is turning upside-down…
‘Cause You Smile, and I Melt…
It’s back to the grind
A conditioned chill in the air
Seems like all my fantasies have run dry
And I don’t have time to care anymore
Work is always the same
And these four walls are such a bore
Being stuck inside is such a pain
But you know how to unlock my door
My modern day frown is turning upside-down…
You caught me so unaware
I was frozen inside from that computer glare
Like a burst of sun, between the clouds
I saw your face in the crowd
I couldn’t help but recognize
That playful look in you eyes
Before I knew it you cracked that grin
And my icy façade was caving in
‘Cause You Smile and I Melt…

The First Pancake Polka
03:14
|
|||
I was dreaming of some pancakes, one early morning
Craving that spongy sweet texture
Sleepy groggy eyes, gazing at the skillet
Eggs for a fluffy mixture
Blueberries and bananas,
make ‘em so much sweeter
Chocolate chips, a dream come true
Melted butter, sticky syrup, sometimes apple sauce
So many options to choose
But… the first pancake’s always a flop
The next two could be second rate
Keep flippin’ flapjacks, till you reach the top
Where the hot cakes are sure to be great!
Keep ‘em in the oven, till you have eleven
Breakfast for five every Friday
Two on every plate, sad pancake in the foil
Feed it to the dog, hope he likes it.
The first time you fall in love…
You think the world is your oyster
Then the oven door slams, and your soufflé falls
And your cake has lost its moisture
He doesn’t call you back
You get a sideways glance
Find out he’s a rotten sardine
He tasted very sweet
But he turned to rancid meat
All at once, you know what it means!
Next time you’re dreaming of a short-stack
In a pool of maple syrup, nice and warm
Remember this most important lesson
The first one will come out deformed.
